Basil and water are all you need to create your own effective acne tonic. Take a couple of teaspoonful of dried basil leaves and steep it in boiling water. Leave the basil in the water for 20 minutes. After the water has gotten cool enough, strain out the leaves and save the tonic in clean, clear and air tight containers. To start using the tonic, wash your face with lukewarm water. Dip a cotton ball in the tonic and gently rub the cotton ball on the affected areas. You shouldn't wash off the tonic. As the tonic is absorbed by your skin, the redness and swelling of your acne will be reduced.
