3D/4D ultrasounds are a wonderful advancement in ultrasonic technology. It gives clear images that allow you to take a look at your unborn baby almost as though you were looking at a photograph. There is a huge market for this since it is so exciting for expectant parents to be able to see their baby. This means that there are lots of places that you can receive a 3D 4D ultrasound Ohio.

Obstetric ultrasonography has been around for many years. It is used medically to date a pregnancy, find fetal abnormalities, check cervical length, check fluid levels, and determine sex of the baby. Most women will receive one to two standard 2D sonograms during their pregnancy from their care provider.

However, sometimes a more detailed ultrasound is required or desired. 3D scans will give a detailed still picture and 4D ones will give detailed real time video. If a standard 2D sonogram detects an abnormality, a 3D/4D one may be performed to verify. They may also be used by maternal fetal specialists to assist with more invasive procedures such as an amniocentesis or fetal surgery.

Many women also receive an elective 3D/4D ultrasound. It can be difficult to wait such a long time to see your baby, but women now have the option to see their baby before they are born. When it is elective, however, most doctor's offices will not perform them and insurance companies will not cover them. This has lead to the opening of private ultrasound clinics all throughout the country.

Despite being expensive, many expectant parents feel that it is worth it to see their baby. Depending on where you go there will be different options available, but usually you can opt to either get one scan or a package deal with multiple scans. The packages usually include a gender scan and a scan towards the end of pregnancy when you can get a better and more detailed image.

Gender reveal scans are popular. The standard anatomy scan most women get at their doctor's office around 20 weeks can sometimes be used to show gender, but it is not always reliable. Usually private clinics will offer a gender reveal guarantee, meaning that they will redo the scan at a later time if the sex can't be determined due to the baby's position. Also, private clinics will usually do a gender scan earlier in the pregnancy than a doctor's office would.

There is also the option of getting a 3D/4D sonogram toward the end of pregnancy. This will give a more detailed view of the baby. It is common to see the baby doing things such as hiccuping, thumb sucking, or yawning. This powerful experience can make the last few uncomfortable weeks of pregnancy much more bearable.

Since these scans are in such high demand, many private clinics are available to get a 3D 4D ultrasound Ohio. There are clinics in Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, Westerville, Mason, Independence, Tiffin, and Willoughby. No matter where you live in Ohio there is a clinic near you.
