Acne does not just happen to teens, it affects people of every age and gender. You need to employ an effective and adequate skin care plan to clear up acne, so you can acquire the clear skin you have always dreamed of. If you drink at least eight glasses of water everyday, it will hydrate your skin adequately and promote the shedding of dead skin.

Rid yourself of small acne problems by applying a spot treatment. This is good because only the spot that needs it will be affected. Look for a spot treatment that contains either benzyl peroxide, sulfur or salicylic acid. However, keep in mind that these are all drying agents and should only be used on problem spots. You can also look online for more natural remedies.

Do you sometimes get the feeling that your acne will be with you forever? It is also said that allergens (hay fever, mites, etc.) can cause some skin problems. Also, make sure to avoid stress. The hormones produced by stress create skin irritation.

Many people think that sun exposure can help acne, but this isn't always true. The sun could even worsen your acne since it triggers more oils to be released by your skin. Other problems such as wrinkles can also be worsened by the sun, and consistent exposure has also been shown to possibly cause skin cancer.

Treat acne on your body. Sweat can worsen body acne, so take a shower as soon as you are done exercising, and make medicated body wash part of your daily cleansing routine.

Stress can strongly affect your acne, so do what you can to stay relaxed and stress-free. Worrying too much about every blemish will just make your acne worse.

Always dress in the correct manner for the season, and wear clothes crafted from natural fabrics. With a combination of increased humidity or extreme temperatures and man-made fibers that keep heat and sweat trapped close to your skin, acne outbreaks can occur for many people. Physical stress from excessive heat can worsen acne, but wearing the right clothes will help.

A diet based on healthy, whole grains, fruits, and veggies can help with acne. Keep your system detoxified and your skin hydrated by drinking an abundant amount of pure, filtered water. Also, get a moderate amount of sunshine every day. About 10 minutes is enough.

Exercise is one good way to prevent acne, but you should not let the sweat from physical exertion remain on your body. The longer sweat is on your body, the more likely it is to clog your pores and cause acne. A nice warm shower, when at all possible, is the best follow-up to a bout of heavy perspiration.

Changing your pillowcase everyday can help to prevent acne. Consider this! Also, imagine yourself rolling and turning onto this every night. You should clean your linens and your pillowcases all of the time and change the one you are sleeping on every single night.

Learn to moderate your consumption of alcohol. An occasional drink is fine, but excessive consumption of alcohol can aggravate your acne.

Age is not a factor in determining who has acne. It is important to develop a skin care regimen that is both healthy and effective in giving you the flawless skin that you seek.
