The Importance And Practise Of Yoga Culture

It plays a major role in shaping the lives of those who indulge in it. Culture is a generally accepted way of living and doing things that is subscribed to by a group of people or a society as right. Yoga culture keeps attracting a larger following as more people realise its significance. It works through connecting the mind and the body into one element. This is done through controlling the nervous system and ensuring it works properly. The nerve system is known to influence how the body reacts to some diseases like stroke.

The history of this way of life goes way back. It started in India and was popularized by Buddhism and Jainism around five thousand years ago . It stands on three pillars, the first being good exercise, controlled breathing and a way of meditation. This old time practise is normally transmitted in the guru chela tradition. There is a teacher known as guru who passes knowledge and understanding to a student known as chela.

It is of essence to note that it is not a Religion. This is more of a philosophy and belief. That is a school of thought that some people subscribe to. It is also a kind of physical practice. This way of life instills discipline to free the person from any desires of the body.The practice is known to increase the life expectancy as it teaches the body to heal and repair itself.

More people are taking it up for different reasons. It is beneficial to a person as it may enable them to learn how to concentrate and meet a certain objective. Through this patience is learnt. Its useful in controlling the desires of the human body. Through meditation the student can reach a self actualisation stage.

It has medical benefits. Recommended for cancer patients as it helps them to relax and control the pain. It is also administered to people struggling with addictions like alcohol and other drug abuse. Good in reducing stress, depression, fatigue and sleep disorders. Its also helpful in combating digestive disorders like constipation.

Persons who practise this sport are more empowered and less more appreciating of themselves. This sport can be practised to maintain a healthy weight. Also taken up to relax the muscles. Helps in maintaining the correct body posture and a good breathing system.

The spinal bone and the abdominal diaphragm are where the body gets its energy. The art separates the body into three segments and five strong sheets. Jainism is one of the schools. It is the most popular, focuses on enabling the soul to be free by separating it from the body completely. Controlling thoughts, emotions and feelings is the centre of this practise.

Buddhism is also widely practiced. It allows the person to attain knowledge through concentration and insight. Hinduism tries to reach a state of isolation from the mind and any form of feelings or emotions. Hinduism contains tantra and hatha. Shavaism is a kind of yoga that is not used as a separation tool like the others but as a tool that brings together the individual with the important matter of the world, that is the universe. All people can take up the practice but some forms are not suitable for pregnant women and children.
