Choosing Your Cake For Your Wedding

By Tobby Green

The days leading up to your wedding are normally taking up with last minute preparations so everything runs smoothly on your day.

There are lots of details to remember to arrange for our wedding day including where to get married and where to have your reception afterwards.

The main part everyone wants to look at is the wedding cake itself. I recently attended a wedding of a friend's daughter and all the gossip was about the cake as a lot of money had been spent on this one item it had nearly blown the wedding budget and on top all this the bride's dad had to drive 100 miles to collect the cake and head back to the venue without dropping one piece of cake or his life would not be worth living.

First things first try and be sensible during the wedding planning and stick to a reasonable budget. As soon as you mention weddings the cost of everything goes up by about a third. Search wedding magazines or online for ideas and think of size of venue and wedding style so your cake fits your wedding plans and not the other way round.

There are plenty of designs for you to choose from including tradional fruit mix or chocolate mix cake. You can order small cakes to large master piece types of cake which my friend had ordered for her daughter.

Gorgous designs are on show to select including tiered cakes and love hearts. Cakes can now be made in a variety of different colours which will please the bride.

Your last decision would be which bakeries to order your big day cake from as there are bound to be plenty to choose from in your area. Either try and sample a few pieces by asking them in each shop or ask around if any of your friend's have had a wedding recently they might be able to steer you in the right decision.
