Students at local high schools and universities are always excited when they get the chance to discover every new job which comes on the market. Their teachers know that career coaching has always been an essential part of the education system. Sometimes this information will help them with their future endeavors and this is always a good thing.
Fortunately everyone knows that little and big children like to mimic law enforcement officials as well as physicians and construction workers. These young tykes are always playing games which usually imitate the grown ups which are around them. Luckily a teacher decided to place her older students into a work study program.
Each student was able to pick a career of their choice and then they would get to job shadow the manager who worked within that job field. Several of these pupils wanted to do hospital work and therefore they were told to report to the local Medical Center on Monday morning. Once they arrived at this place their instructor told them that each of them would be able to work with someone from pediatrics, oncology and cardiology.
All of these were great assignments which would lead to a good future job for everyone involved. Every staff member at this medical place tried to make the young people feel very welcome in every way possible. The young female who worked with oncology became very involved with her older female patients since they were very needy and wanted human company throughout the day. She took the time to comb the women's hair and to recite poetry to them before bedtime.
An elderly woman on this ward had passed away while Laura was doing her internship. She was very sad when the woman died until a staff worker told her all about the deaths which usually happen at this location. He warned the girl to never get emotionally involved with any patient and this was good solid advice. Over time Laura would surely learn how to accept death when it comes without warning.
It was also great that a certain male pupil was able to work with children since he was very kind and polite. The children in pediatrics seemed to love him and he shared their positive enthusiasm. This young man had finally found his true calling and would indeed pursue a job which would put him in contact with younger individuals.
Last but not least another girl pupil decided to take her chance with the very popular cardiology team who worked within the hospital. She had learned so much information from these dedicated doctors and could easily see herself performing heart surgeries. This young woman truly hoped that her new knowledge would eventually save her mother and father from having future heart attacks.
During the last week of school every student was asked to write a report about their job adventure. They were indeed pleased to complete this task since it gave them the chance to share their unique experience. Other instructors decided to utilize this particular shadowing program and it still remains popular all over the world.
